Done Readin’ – a prequel to Watch out for Snakes. Michael Mulligan’s life is hard in the King’s Orphan School in Hobart Town. He longs to be reunited with the father he’s never met and the convict mother he barely remembers. Long listed for the Mansfield Readers and Writers 2023 Short Story Competition (VIC). Done Readin’ was published in the MRW “Soul” Anthology in 2024.

Watch out for Snakes – 12-year-old Michael Mulligan lives under the shadow of the Great Western Tiers in colonial Van Diemen’s Land. An encounter with an escaped convict turns his world upside down. Long listed for the Dorothy Dunnett/Historical Writers’ Association short Story Award 2023 and a finalist in the Sixfold Winter 2023 short story Competition, Watch out for Snakes was published online in the sixfold Fiction Winter 2023 anthology.
